Shelter for Displaced Families in Gaza

For families in Gaza living in tents and damaged buildings, winter brings cold, damp and illness, hardest of all for children and older people. FAJR Global's shelter program gets warm blankets and shelter essentials to these families before the coldest weeks.

Winter 2025 to 2026

From December 13, 2025, to January 19, 2026, FAJR distributed 4,925 heavy winter blankets to 4,925 displaced families. Distributions reached more than 20 sites in northern and southern Gaza, including camps, collective shelters and schools.

FAJR drew up the lists with local relief committees and site managers, giving priority by shelter type, household size and whether a family had children or older relatives. Families were told by SMS where to collect their blanket, and lists were checked to prevent anyone receiving twice.

Projects and campaigns

This work runs through the Gaza Winter Relief project. This winter's appeal, Warm Gaza: Winter Blankets for Families, funds 5,000 blankets bought from suppliers inside Gaza, so the money also supports local businesses. $25 buys one blanket.

This program is part of FAJR Humanity, FAJR's area of work for food, water, shelter and emergency relief.
