Sponsor one classroom across all three daily shifts for the year

More than 650,000 school-age children in Gaza have had their education disrupted for a long time. Many schools have been destroyed or damaged, and others are now sheltering displaced families. FAJR Global has already set up and run three schools in Gaza. We plan to open up to 30 field schools across the Gaza Strip, so children can learn close to where they live.
Why Gaza needs field schools
UNICEF reported in April 2026 that about 700,000 children in Gaza had missed formal in-person schooling for almost three school years in a row, that nearly 98% of school buildings were damaged, and that around 420,000 children had no face-to-face learning at all (UNICEF, April 2026). Online classes are not a real option for most children, because electricity, internet access and devices are all hard to come by.
30 schools across Gaza
The schools teach Palestinian students from Grade 1 to Grade 12. Each school runs six learning groups, three for boys and three for girls, over three shifts a day. That lets one school teach roughly 1,500 to 1,680 students. Every school has eight classrooms, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities, a room set aside for psychosocial support, and space for school operations and student activities. We fund and open schools one at a time as donations come in, so a school can start teaching without waiting for all 30 to be funded.
Learning and support
Students follow a 12-month program: two academic semesters plus a four-month summer program to help them catch up. Lessons follow the Palestinian curriculum, with extra attention on recovering lost learning and building strong reading, writing and math skills.
School is also where children get care. Each school offers structured mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) activities, health screenings, malnutrition monitoring, nutrition support, and medical referrals when a child needs one. FAJR also trains the counselors and teachers who support these children. Read about FAJR's teacher training.
What your gift provides
$25 buys school supplies for one child. $40 gives a child a term of schooling. $500 equips one classroom, and $2,500 helps cover the cost of running a field school for one month.
Three schools are already teaching children in Gaza. Your gift helps us open the next ones, so thousands more children can get back to a classroom.
Questions about this campaign
Is building a school Sadaqah Jariyah?
Many donors give to education as Sadaqah Jariyah, an ongoing charity whose benefit continues as long as the knowledge is used. You can give in your own name or in memory of a loved one.
Is this campaign Zakat-eligible?
Yes. Every FAJR campaign is Zakat-eligible. Read more on our Zakat page.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. FAJR Global is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tax ID (EIN) 83-1497239, and your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You receive a tax receipt by email.
Can I give without online fees?
Yes. Online payments carry a 3% card processing fee and a 1% platform processing fee. Give by Zelle to donate@fajr.org or by check payable to FAJR GLOBAL and the full amount reaches the work. How to give without fees.
Campaign updates
Every gift on this page turns into food on a plate within days. A gift of $9 funds one nutritious meal for a displaced family in Gaza. Your support is going straight to food, the transport to move it, and the teams distributing it with dignity.
A look at how a meal comes together: chicken prepared and seasoned in bulk, then cooked in large pots before being packed into trays and delivered while still warm. This is the same shift-based kitchen shown in the campaign photos.

Distribution is underway across displacement shelters in Gaza, reaching families who often cannot get to a market safely. Each parcel and hot meal is delivered by teams working directly where people are sheltering.
