1. Who we are and what this policy covers
FAJR Global (formerly FAJR Scientific) is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tax ID (EIN) 83-1497239. Our address is 6206 Cibola Park Ln, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77041.
This policy explains what we collect when you visit www.fajr.org, give to FAJR, sign up for our emails, apply to volunteer or write to us. "We" and "FAJR" mean FAJR Global.
It does not cover:
- Our shop at shop.fajr.org. It runs on Shopify and has its own privacy policy, linked from the shop footer.
- Other websites we link to, such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- How we handle patient records. This policy is about website visitors, donors and supporters.
2. Our promise about donor information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
We do not give your information to other charities or companies for their own marketing.
We share your information only with the service providers and in the cases listed in section 5, or when you ask us to.
If you do not want your name and address shared outside FAJR, tell us at the address in section 14 and we will record it.
3. What we collect
When you give online. You give by card through CharityStack, our donation platform. CharityStack and its payment processor, Stripe, collect:
- your name, email address, mailing address and phone number
- the amount, the date, the campaign you chose and whether the gift is monthly
- your card details, which go to Stripe and CharityStack
- anything you type in an optional field on the form
We do not see or store your full card number. We receive your donor record and receipt details from CharityStack so we can thank you, send your tax receipt and answer questions.
When you give by Zelle or check. Your bank gives us the name, email address and amount that come with a Zelle payment. With a check, we see the name, address and bank details printed on it, plus any note you include. We use these to record the gift and send your receipt.
Recent supporters. Campaign pages may show a live list of recent supporters from CharityStack. If you do not want your name shown, email us and we will ask CharityStack to remove it.
When you sign up for emails. The footer form asks for your email address. We use it to send you field updates and news about our work.
When you apply to volunteer or work with us. The Get Involved pages link to forms hosted by Google (Google Forms). They collect what the form asks for, such as your name, contact details, profession and experience. We use your answers to review your application. You can also apply by email to applicants@fajr.org.
When you write or call us. We keep your message, your contact details and our reply, so we can follow up.
When you browse. Our website host and security provider receive your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you ask for. This is how any website works. We use it to deliver pages and to block attacks.
4. How we use it
We use your information to:
- process your gift and send your tax receipt
- run monthly gifts and let you manage them
- answer your questions
- send the emails you asked for
- keep records for tax, audit and legal rules
- report our fundraising results in a way that does not name you
- keep the website secure and stop fraud
5. Who receives it
These companies handle information for us. Each uses it only to provide its service to us.
We may also share information:
- when the law requires it, for example in response to a court order
- to protect FAJR, our donors, staff or the public, for example to investigate fraud
- if FAJR merges with or transfers its work to another nonprofit
6. Cookies and similar tools
Cookies are small files a website saves on your device.
Today, www.fajr.org does not use Google Analytics, Meta or TikTok pixels, or advertising cookies. Cloudflare sets one security cookie (named _cfuvid) to help tell people from bots.
Some things you use from our pages are run by other companies, and they may set their own cookies or similar storage:
- CharityStack and Stripe, when you open the donation form. They use them to keep your session secure and to prevent fraud.
- YouTube, when you play a video.
- Shopify, on shop.fajr.org.
- Google, if you use a volunteer form.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The donation form and the site’s security checks may not work without them.
If we add website analytics later, we will update this page first and say what it measures.
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal. Our site does not track you across other websites, so these signals do not change anything today.
7. Text messages
FAJR’s website does not send text messages. Texts about a gift come from CharityStack, our donation platform. If FAJR ever sends text updates itself, we will do so only with your consent.
The terms for texts (what is sent, how often, how to stop them) are in the Text messages section of our Terms of Service. CharityStack’s own Privacy Policy also covers them.
A mobile number given for texts is used only to send those texts, answer HELP and honor STOP. We do not sell, rent or share it, or your consent to receive texts, with anyone for their marketing. Service providers that deliver the messages, and phone carriers, handle it only to deliver them.
Consent to receive texts is never a condition of giving.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you
- correct it
- delete it, unless we must keep it for tax, audit or legal reasons
- stop sending you emails, appeals or texts
- stop sharing your name and address outside FAJR
- remove your name from a public supporters list
We offer these to everyone, wherever you live.
To use them, email info@fajr.org or write to us at the address in section 14. We may ask you to confirm who you are, for example by writing from the email address you used to give. We will reply within 45 days.
Emails. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
Texts. Reply STOP to any text to stop it.
Donations through CharityStack. CharityStack holds your donor record as our service provider and sends donors to us for requests about their information. When you ask us, we will ask CharityStack to make the change.
Monthly gifts and receipts. You can change or cancel a monthly gift, and download receipts, in the Donor Portal.
9. Keeping your information safe
Card payments are handled by Stripe and CharityStack, not by us. We do not store your full card number.
Our website uses HTTPS, so what you send is encrypted in transit.
No system is completely secure. If a data breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
10. How long we keep it
We keep your information as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. We generally keep donation records for seven years. We keep email sign-ups until you unsubscribe. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove your name from it.
11. Children
Our website and donation forms are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
12. Visitors from outside the United States
FAJR is based in the United States and so are our service providers. If you use our website or give from another country, your information goes to and is stored in the United States.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use or share your information, we will put a notice on this page before it takes effect.
