1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use www.fajr.org or give to FAJR Global, a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tax ID (EIN) 83-1497239, formerly FAJR Scientific. "We" and "FAJR" mean FAJR Global.

By using the site or giving to us, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Our shop at shop.fajr.org has its own policies. Purchases there are covered by the policies on that site.

2. Using the website

You may use this site for lawful purposes. Please do not:

• try to break into the site, our donation forms or the Donor Portal
• interfere with how the site works, or send it viruses or automated traffic
• pretend to be someone else, or use another person’s card without permission
• use the site to send spam or to collect other people’s information

We may block access if you do.

3. Giving to FAJR

You can give by card online, by Zelle, or by check.

By card. Online card gifts are processed by CharityStack, our donation platform, and its payment processor, Stripe. Your card statement may show "FAJR SCIENTIFIC", our former name. It is the same organization, with the same Tax ID. When you give online, you also agree to the terms and privacy policy of CharityStack and Stripe for the payment.

By Zelle. Send to donate@fajr.org. Add the campaign name, or "Zakat", in the memo.

By check. Make it payable to FAJR GLOBAL and mail it to 6206 Cibola Park Ln, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77041. Add a note with your email address so we can email your receipt.

Gifts are voluntary. By giving, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you are allowed to use the card or account you give with.

We may decline or return a gift if we need to, to follow the law or to protect FAJR’s work.

4. Fees

Online payments carry a 3% card processing fee and a 1% platform processing fee.

Zelle and check gifts do not carry these fees.

5. Monthly gifts

You can choose a monthly gift when you donate. It repeats every month until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time. Sign in to the Donor Portal to manage your monthly gift, or email info@fajr.org and we will help.

6. Receipts and tax deductibility

FAJR Global is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tax ID (EIN) 83-1497239. Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

For online gifts, we email a tax receipt. You can also download receipts in the Donor Portal, under Tax Documents. For Zelle and check gifts, we email your receipt once the gift arrives, and mail one too for checks.

If you receive anything of value in return for a gift, your receipt will say so.

Please talk to your tax adviser about your own situation. We cannot give tax advice.

7. Refunds and mistakes

Gifts are generally final.

If you made a mistake, such as a wrong amount, a duplicate gift, or a card used without the owner’s permission, email info@fajr.org within 30 days of the gift. Tell us your name, the email you used and the date and amount. We will review each request in good faith and write back.

Approved refunds go back through the original payment method.

Please write to us before you ask your bank to reverse a payment. We can usually fix it faster.

8. Where your gift goes

A gift to a campaign funds that campaign’s work. A General Donation goes where FAJR’s teams judge the need to be greatest.

Sometimes a campaign reaches its goal before the year ends, or the work cannot go ahead, for example because of safety, closed borders or a change on the ground. In that case we use your gift for the most similar need. A gift you designated as Zakat goes to Zakat-eligible needs.

9. Zakat

Every FAJR campaign, including the General Donation fund, is Zakat-eligible.

To give Zakat by Zelle or check, write "Zakat" in the memo. We apply gifts designated as Zakat only to Zakat-eligible purposes.

Our Zakat calculator offers general guidance using common scholarly positions (85g gold or 595g silver nisab, 2.5% rate). It is not a religious ruling. For your specific situation, consult your local scholar or imam.

10. Text messages

FAJR’s website does not send text messages. Texts about your gift come from CharityStack, our donation platform.

Who sends them. CharityStack sends receipt texts. Each one names FAJR Global as the organization that received your gift.

What you get.

• A receipt by text for your gift, if you give your mobile number for it.
• Updates from FAJR by text, only if you agree to receive them. The sign-up tells you what to expect.

How often. One text per gift for receipts. For updates, frequency varies.

Cost. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your phone plan.

Consent. You do not have to agree to texts to give. Giving us your number for a receipt does not sign you up for updates.

To stop. Reply STOP to any text. You will get one message confirming that you are unsubscribed. Reply START to receive them again.

For help. Reply HELP, or email info@fajr.org. You can also write to CharityStack at support@charitystack.com.

Delivery. Phone carriers and CharityStack are not responsible for late or missed texts.

Your number. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number, or your consent to texts, with anyone for their marketing. See our Privacy Policy and CharityStack’s Privacy Policy.

11. Our content

The text, photos, video, logos and design on this site belong to FAJR or to the people who gave us permission to use them. The FAJR name and logo are ours. Press logos on our pages belong to the outlets named.

You may share links to our pages. You may quote short parts with credit. For anything more, such as reusing our photos or stories, write to media.relations@fajr.org first.

12. Links to other sites

Our pages link to other sites, including CharityStack, Stripe, the shop, social media, YouTube and Google Forms. We do not run them and cannot answer for their content or privacy practices.

13. Medical and general information

Information on this site about medical conditions and care is general. It is not medical advice. Please see a doctor about your own health.

Stories, numbers and photos describe our work at the time we published them.

14. Disclaimer

We work to keep the site accurate and available. We cannot promise that it will always be free of errors or interruptions. The site is provided "as is".

15. Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, FAJR is not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using this site. We are also not liable for problems that happen on services we do not run, such as CharityStack, Stripe, your bank, or your phone carrier. This does not limit rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of Harris County, Texas, unless the law says otherwise.

17. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top. The new terms apply from that date. They do not change a gift you have already made.
