Every day, displaced families in Gaza, especially children, are struggling to find enough food to eat. The war did not stop, and neither has the suffering. For about $9, you can provide one nutritious hot meal to a family of four in Gaza.
Hunger in Gaza today
The latest IPC analysis, the global standard for measuring hunger, expects more than 1.4 million people in Gaza, about two thirds of the population, to face Crisis levels of food insecurity or worse by the end of 2026 (IPC, July 2026). An estimated 74,200 children under five are expected to suffer acute malnutrition between May 2026 and April 2027, and 83% of households report having no source of income. Without food aid, the IPC estimates that about 90% of Gaza's population would face high levels of hunger.
For families already enduring displacement, loss and unimaginable hardship, a warm meal brings immediate relief and a reminder that they have not been forgotten.
How the campaign works
Hunger Cannot Wait funds freshly cooked, nutritious meals for displaced families across Gaza. Our goal is to distribute more than 100,000 meals until May 2027, including the holy month of Ramadan, reaching displaced people throughout the Gaza Strip.
FAJR has done this before. During Ramadan, FAJR's grocery voucher campaign supported 2,805 families in Gaza. Read about the Ramadan campaign.
What your gift provides
$9 provides 1 meal for a family of four. $90 provides 10 meals, $900 provides 100 meals, and $9,000 provides 1,000 meals. The need is urgent, the need is huge, and every meal matters.
Questions about this campaign
Can I give my Zakat or Sadaqah for food in Gaza?
Yes. Feeding families who are poor and in need is one of the clearest uses of Zakat. Every FAJR campaign is Zakat-eligible. Read more on our Zakat page.
Will meals continue through Ramadan?
Yes. The campaign runs until May 2027 and includes Ramadan, when FAJR will continue serving meals to fasting families.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. FAJR Global is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tax ID (EIN) 83-1497239, and your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You receive a tax receipt by email.
Can I give without online fees?
Yes. Online payments carry a 3% card processing fee and a 1% platform processing fee. Give by Zelle to donate@fajr.org or by check payable to FAJR GLOBAL and the full amount reaches the work. How to give without fees.
Campaign updates
Every gift on this page turns into food on a plate within days. A gift of $9 funds one nutritious meal for a displaced family in Gaza. Your support is going straight to food, the transport to move it, and the teams distributing it with dignity.
A look at how a meal comes together: chicken prepared and seasoned in bulk, then cooked in large pots before being packed into trays and delivered while still warm. This is the same shift-based kitchen shown in the campaign photos.

Distribution is underway across displacement shelters in Gaza, reaching families who often cannot get to a market safely. Each parcel and hot meal is delivered by teams working directly where people are sheltering.
