Flour, fresh vegetables, food parcels and hot meals for displaced families across Gaza, delivered where they are sheltering.
Where this program sits
FAJR Global's food program gets staple food and fresh produce to displaced families in Gaza: flour so families can bake their own bread, fresh vegetables, mixed food parcels and hot meals. FAJR has been distributing food in Gaza since April 2024.
What families have received
- Flour (Bread of Dignity): from December 14, 2024, to January 22, 2025, 12,000 bags of 25 kg, or 300,000 kg in total, for 12,000 households in Khan Younis, Rafah and Deir Al-Balah. That is about 84,000 people.
- Fresh vegetables: from July 26 to August 18, 2025, 10,000 parcels for 10,000 households in northern and southern Gaza, about 70,000 people.
- Ramadan food vouchers: from January 25 to March 16, 2026, 2,805 families received $375 each in four weekly installments, to spend at accredited supermarkets.
- Hot meals and parcels: about 1,600 hot meals in Rafah in April 2024; 830 food and vegetable parcels in Gaza City and northern Gaza in April 2025; and 1,000 hot meals at four sites, including hospitals, in June 2025.
Why a medical organization feeds families
A family that cannot eat will not recover from illness or surgery. With most of Gaza's farmland destroyed, families lived for months on canned food, and malnutrition and anemia were rising, especially among children. FAJR designed its vegetable parcels to add the vitamins and minerals that standard food baskets lack.
Food goes first to the families with the least: people who have lost their homes, large households, families with young children, older people and people living with chronic illness or disability. Lists are checked with community committees, and every distribution is documented.
Projects and campaigns
This work runs through the Gaza Food Assistance project. The current appeal is Hunger Cannot Wait: Hot Meals for Gaza, which aims to serve more than 100,000 freshly cooked meals to displaced families until May 2027, through Ramadan. About $9 provides one hot meal for a family of four.
This program is part of FAJR Humanity, FAJR's area of work for food, water, shelter and emergency relief.
