A Roof Against the Rain: Tents for Gaza
Part of FAJR's Shelter for Displaced Families in Gaza program
Heavy rain has destroyed many tents in Gaza. Give a displaced family a tent, mattresses and blankets for the winter.

Heavy rain has destroyed many tents in Gaza, and displaced families are facing winter without a dry place to sleep. FAJR Global is providing tents for Gaza families without adequate shelter: one tent, two mattresses and two blankets for each household. $810 covers a full family shelter kit.
Photos from Gaza on November 7, 2026 show flooded tents and soaked bedding. For a family that has lost its tent, one night of rain can mean no roof, no dry mattress and no warm cover.

The need
As of November 1, 2026, the Shelter Cluster said people in Gaza still needed approximately 121,000 tents (UN OCHA situation report, November 5, 2026). The same report describes severely depleted stocks in Gaza, which it gives as approximately 2,800 tents and 4,993 mattresses.
Many displaced families depend on tents, makeshift structures or damaged buildings. Repeated displacement has left households without secure accommodation. Winter brings rain, low temperatures and damp, which quickly worsen shelter that was already inadequate. Wet bedding and cold nights raise the risk of illness, particularly for children, older people and those who are already unwell.
Families also face daily trade-offs between food, repairs and medicine. A family that has to replace a tent from its own limited money has less left for everything else.
How FAJR helps
Each family receives one tent, two blankets and two mattresses. FAJR works in displacement areas in the governorates of North Gaza, Gaza, Deir Al-Balah and Khan Younis, including Al-Mawasi. Exact locations are chosen through field assessment and are not published, to keep families and staff safe.

Field teams assess each household on shelter condition, income, household size, health needs and access to other help. Households facing the greatest hardship come first, including orphans, widow-headed households and families that have lost their main breadwinner. Quantities are checked on arrival, and every household is counted once.
Families are never asked to pay, do a favor or be photographed in order to receive help.
