FAJR’s leadership on Our TeamDr. Mosab Nasser, FAJR Global’s Co-Founder, President and CEO, has concluded a two-week visit to Egypt and Jordan. In Cairo, Egypt, he visited the FAJR Educational Center, the school for Palestinian children run by FAJR, and met two embassies and Save the Children. In Jordan he met the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and Abdali Hospital, and visited patients from Gaza recovering from surgery.
The trip let FAJR check on its programs, hear from the teams delivering them and meet patients and partners in person. It follows Dr. Nasser’s earlier visit to Jordan and Qatar in May.
Visiting the FAJR Educational Center in Cairo
Dr. Nasser toured classrooms, sat in on lessons and met students, teachers and staff at the FAJR Educational Center in Cairo.
He also joined the distribution of textbooks for students in Grades 1 to 11, and reviewed how students move around the center and are dismissed, with particular attention to their safety.

In the 2026 to 2027 academic year, the center serves 800 Palestinian students in Grades 1 to 11. Lessons are in person and follow the Palestinian curriculum. Psychosocial support runs alongside weekly health screenings that catch health needs early, and selected sports and recreational activities.
Some of the most vulnerable families also receive targeted help, including transportation and food support where needed, so that cost does not keep a child out of school.
FAJR also held its Child Protection & Safeguarding Training at the center, with Dr. Nasser and staff from the education, medical, logistics and media teams in Egypt taking part. It covered professional boundaries, recognizing and responding to concerns, reporting and referral pathways, and the feedback and complaints mechanisms open to children, families and staff. Meeting two embassies and Save the Children in Cairo
Dr. Nasser and FAJR Global representatives met the Embassy of the State of Palestine and the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Cairo to coordinate support for Palestinians in Egypt.
Palestinian Embassy. Dr. Nasser met Palestinian Ambassador Naji Al-Naji. They discussed education, medical care for evacuated patients, humanitarian assistance and the return of Palestinians to Gaza. The aim is to combine FAJR’s operational capacity with the Embassy’s community reach, especially for children’s education and evacuated patients’ medical needs. Both sides want to keep coordinating.

Turkish Embassy. Dr. Nasser met Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu Şen, together with Halit Esat Yaren, Third Secretary at the Embassy, and Mohamed Eid, Assistant to the Ambassador. FAJR gave an overview of its work across Gaza, Egypt and Jordan. The discussion then turned to education and medical care:
- more support for FAJR’s existing educational program, and extra educational capacity for Palestinian children currently awaiting enrollment
- support for evacuated Palestinian patients, including trauma-related cases and people with amputations
- coordination with Turkish organizations operating in Cairo
Ambassador Şen said he would like to visit the FAJR Educational Center to meet students and teachers. FAJR will keep sharing relevant proposals with the Embassy.

Save the Children. Dr. Nasser and the FAJR team met Nadia Mohammad, Director of Program Operations at Save the Children International, at its Cairo office. The teams presented their programs and discussed possible collaboration on education and health, including educational programs and possible support for people with amputations from Gaza.
Afterward the FAJR team visited Save the Children’s learning center in Cairo. It offers education and learning activities, skills development, arts and crafts, vocational learning, and support for women’s livelihoods. A Save the Children team is expected to visit the FAJR Educational Center next.

Meeting JHCO and Abdali Hospital in Jordan
In Jordan, the visit centered on patients at different stages of treatment, and on the hospitals and medical teams that support FAJR’s MedEvac Program. Dr. Nasser followed ongoing cases and met patients and their families.
Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization. In Amman, Dr. Nasser met Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Jordan’s national body for coordinating humanitarian relief, including aid to Gaza. Dr. Nasser gave an overview of FAJR’s work across Gaza, Egypt and Jordan, focusing on the MedEvac Program and the care evacuated patients receive in Jordan through treatment and recovery. They discussed cooperation on medical evacuation and patient care, humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and support for Palestinian patients and families in Jordan. Both sides want to strengthen coordination.
Abdali Hospital. Dr. Nasser visited Abdali Hospital and met Iciar Vaquero, Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer and Non-Executive Board Member. To date, FAJR’s MedEvac Program in Jordan has treated 84 patients, with more than 38 of them receiving care at Abdali. Dr. Nasser presented the hospital with a recognition trophy for the second time, to thank its teams for the care and expertise they have given patients through treatment and recovery.

Checking on patients after surgery in Jordan
Four patients from Gaza had surgery at Abdali Hospital during Dr. Nasser’s stay, and he visited each of them afterward to see how they were recovering. You can follow other evacuated children’s cases on our site, and support this care through the Gaza children medical evacuation campaign.
- Dina Khadoura, who sustained multiple severe injuries, had reconstructive surgery with skin grafts, as part of her ongoing treatment and preparation for prosthetic care.
- Tala Abu Saada, who sustained multiple injuries and lost an eye, had surgery to remove remaining shrapnel. That completes her current course of treatment.
- Karam Lubbad, who sustained a severe leg and foot injury, had reconstructive surgery after extensive wound treatment and skin grafting. Further orthopedic care is planned to improve his mobility.
- Doha Abu Sneineh, who sustained injuries to her jaw and hand as well as multiple shrapnel wounds, had another procedure in her multi-stage treatment.
Dr. Nasser also visited Maha Al-Athamna, a patient from Gaza being treated at Eye Specialty Hospital, to check on her recovery after her latest surgery. Maha sustained severe injuries to both legs, which led to the amputation of one leg and extensive bone damage in the other. Since FAJR evacuated her to Jordan, she has had several stages of surgery and rehabilitation. Her latest procedure was a successful bone graft to help the injured leg heal, bear weight and walk again. Next come monitoring of bone healing, prosthetic care, and physical and occupational therapy.
Dr. Nasser also visited Mohammad Ja’arat, a Jordanian patient from the Jordan Valley who lost both legs in a serious road accident. FAJR’s regional medical work mainly serves Palestinians affected by war and displacement, but after Mohammad appealed for help, FAJR supported his surgical treatment at Al-Kindi Hospital. He was treated by Dr. Mahmoud Qdeimat, a physician working with FAJR. His condition has improved significantly, and FAJR is still supporting his recovery. Mohammad is now in physical therapy to prepare for prosthetic limbs for both legs.
