In much of West Africa the barrier to surgery is not diagnosis but access. Patients know what they need, and wait years for it.
FAJR's volunteer arthroplasty and ophthalmology teams travel to The Gambia to operate alongside local doctors — joint replacements that return people to work, and eye surgery that restores sight.
Every clinician on the mission volunteers their time. Donations cover what the surgery itself requires: implants, instruments, medication and theatre costs.
FAJR Global is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — donations are Zakat eligible and tax-deductible. Every patient is treated free of charge.
