FAJR Global’s CEO, Dr. Nasser, has concluded a three-week visit to the Middle East, including Jordan and Qatar, where he advanced key humanitarian and medical initiatives.
In Jordan, Dr. Nasser focused on overseeing FAJR’s on-the-ground operations, with particular attention to the care of more than 84 critically injured patients evacuated from Gaza, along with their families. These patients are currently receiving treatment at leading private hospitals in Amman. With the support of its donors, FAJR is covering 100% of all medical, living, and logistical expenses—a multi-million-dollar effort due to the severity and complexity of the injuries.
During his time in Jordan, a specialized medical mission led by Dr. Khaled Saleh was deployed. The team included seven surgeons—four from the United States and three from the West Bank—along with a primary care physician from Egypt and local medical and logistical staff. The team’s expertise spanned orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, urology, and general surgery. Their primary objective was to evaluate all patients and develop updated treatment plans following recent enhancements to FAJR’s medical team in Amman. Several successful surgeries were performed as part of this mission.
The medical team identified a major challenge: many patients are suffering from antibiotic-resistant infections acquired in Gaza. These infections significantly complicate recovery, often requiring multiple surgeries and repeated hospitalizations. In response, Dr. Nasser and Dr. Saleh have agreed to deploy monthly medical missions to Jordan to ensure ongoing treatment until patients are fully healed and can be repatriated to Gaza.
Dr. Nasser then traveled to Qatar, where he met with leaders of humanitarian organizations and businesses to expand support for FAJR’s operations across Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, and Egypt.
During his visit, Dr. Nasser also secured key partnerships. An agreement was reached with the King Hussein Cancer Center and Foundation to evacuate cancer patients from Gaza to Jordan on a monthly basis. Additionally, FAJR partnered with the Arabian Medical Relief organization to evacuate up to 20 amputee patients from Gaza—ages 14 to 18—for treatment in Jordan. This effort supports His Majesty King Abdullah II’s initiative to provide medical care for up to 2,000 injured children.
Over the past 12 months, under Dr. Nasser’s leadership, FAJR Global has made a significant impact, improving the lives of thousands across multiple countries. This work would not be possible without the continued trust and generosity of FAJR’s donors, whose support enables the organization’s mission to deliver life-changing care worldwide.
